Allan Pack of Lethbridge passed away peacefully at Good Samaritans West Highland Centre early Sept 2, 2024 at the age of 86 from Parkinson’s complications. He is survived by his wife Sandi Pack, and his three children: Darcy Pack (Liz), Sheila Pack (Lee), and Lois Boersma (Henry), as well as 7 grandchildren. Out of a farming family of 9 from Saskatchewan, Allan is also survived by an older sister Lois (Chris) Naylor, and younger sister Carol (Rod) Stevens, and many nieces and nephews.
Allan was a carpenter on staff at Prairie Bible Institute and then self-employed until retirement. He loved fixing everything and was very handy with skills going beyond carpentry into the other trades as well. Keeping connections was very important to Allan and we have many fond memories of visiting family in the big green station wagon. Faith was central to Allan’s life and every morning he could be seen reading his Bible & Daily Bread portion. He loved western music (Wilf Carter), and Gospel (George Beverly Shea), and even sang in church choirs and his own wedding. His love for Jesus & music were a great comfort to him as his health declined in his older years. While a man of few words he was very kind and easy to love. Up until the end he would wave to everyone and make sure to express his gratitude to all those around him.
Special thanks to the staff at West Highlands for their loving care, and to his daughter Sheila who helped nurse him in his very last days.
A memorial service was held in Three Hills at Manor Gospel Church on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
