Anna Ruppert Obituary

Anna Marie Ruppert (nee. Chase) passed away in her sleep at the Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale on November 20, 2022.

She was born in Woodstock, N.B. and there she married Pete Ruppert on November 1, 1942. As she said, "He went to Europe on our honeymoon." When he returned from WWII in 1945, they began raising their family in Woodstock. In 1949, they moved west settling in Lomond, AB. There they raised their five children.

Anna was an active volunteer with many organizations such as Village Happenings, Lomond Sunshine Drop-in, Vulcan Legion and the Anglican and Lutheran Churches. As the children grew, she became the Assistant Post Mistress in Lomond.

When she and Pete retired, they traveled across Canada many times and loved camping at Williams Lake with the family. She later moved to the Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale. She served on many committees and especially enjoyed outings, crafts, bingo, and knitting.

She is survived by four children, Margaret (Don) Zuba, Frank (Marion) Ruppert, Erich (Carol) Ruppert and Marie (Bill) Moskal. Her ten grandchildren were her greatest joy. Veronica (Tyson) Ormann, Trevor (Angie) Zuba, Michelle (Ame) Gjerlaug, Lorie Ruppert, Quentin (Shannon) Ruppert, Steven (Vanessa), Peter (Arianna) Ruppert, Chad (Suzanne) Moskal, Cody Moskal, and Sean (Lanette) Moskal all enjoyed many holidays and remember being spoiled by Grandma. She also had fourteen great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.

Anna was predeceased by her husband Peter Stephen Ruppert, as well as her son William in 1975. Her parents Wallace and Isadora Chase and all her siblings have passed.

Charitable donations can be made to the Lomond Sunshine Drop-in Centre or a charity of your choice.

Our thanks to the staff at Sunny South for eleven years of care. Many people went above and beyond in the last few months.
