It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Colin MacNeil. Colin passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19 with his family by his side. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Eileen, of 56 years. He also leaves to mourn his 5 children: Donnie (Jody), Randy (Gina), Heather (Gary), Simone (Kelvin) and Cory. Papa Collie will always be remembered by his treasured grandsons: Jessy, Justin, Brett, and Scott. He is survived by his sisters Marge (Mike), and Dianne (Camille) as well as sisters-in-law Sandra MacNeil, Jean Nelson, Margaret Gentes, Gladys Stonehouse and brother-in-law Reuben King, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents Michael Dan and Helen MacNeil, as well as his brothers Murdock and John Malcolm “Uncle Donnie” and his sister Catherine “Tootsie”, her husband Rodney and their son, sisters-in-law Iola and Irene, brothers-in-law Paul, Bud, and Douglas.
All his many buddies from Kawneer and Rhino Security had a special place in Colin’s heart. Colin had a heart of gold and always made everybody around him laugh with his great sense of humor. His favorite pastimes were gardening, spoiling his dog “Squeakers”, playing cards with his family and friends and socializing with his many friends at the bingo hall.
As per Colin’s wishes, there will be no service, but his ashes will be laid to rest by his family at Mountain View Cemetery.
We would like to send a “special thank-you” to the wonderful Staff at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit.
