Dennis Frank Payne

Mr. Dennis Frank Payne of Lethbridge passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children, on April 25, 2021.

Dennis was born on November 10, 1952 on a small homestead near Mountain View, Alberta. He was fortunate to call many places home during his sojourn on Earth, including Lethbridge, Cardston, Calgary, and Grande Prairie.

He is survived by his 7 children: Avril Payne, Dustin (Elisabeth) Payne, Tiffany Doig, Bronwen (Dan) Howarth, Jessica (Shaun) Dowell, Jonathan Payne, and Heather (Ben) Krogman.

He is predeceased by his parents Cyril and Ada, and has 26 grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.

Dennis had a passion for life. He was known as a strong man, both physically and spiritually. He had an intense passion for journaling, hunting, fishing, singing, playing guitar, and using his hands to create works of wood and leather. Dennis will be missed for his smile, enthusiastic laugh, and sense of humour.

The family wishes to express a deep thanks to the staff of the Legacy Lodge, as well as all those who made the effort to visit with Dennis over the past years.

A private memorial will be held for Dennis in the coming weeks, and a public get-together will be organized for the future, when regulations permit, to celebrate Dennis’ life.
