It is with incredible sadness to announce the death of Dianne (Danny) Hammel on
January 2nd 2021. She had just celebrated her 70th birthday.
My Mom was the youngest of 12 siblings. Dianne was pre-deceased by: Louise Dunlop,
Audrey Coleman, Warren (Bud) Astle, Alvin Astle, Ron Astle, Henry Charles, Harvey Astle,
Gordon Astle, and Bruce Astle. Dianne is survived by her Sister, Pearl LeClercq, Brother Boyd
Astle, Husband Bob Hammel, Daughter and Son in Law, Jessica Hammel Siemens and Brant
Siemens. As well as numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Family were very important to my Mom. She loved visiting, playing games or puzzles
with family and friends. She had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh, a gentle heart and a kind
soul. She loved to make people laugh and to joke around. Mom loved to paint, sew, crafts and
bake. She was talented at just about anything she picked up. She also loved road trips, especially
her trip to Mexico, all by herself and camping in a mini-van.
Wife, Mom, Mother-in-law, Aunty, cousin, friend. Mom was loved by many and will be
missed and thought of always.
Dianne and Bob met in 1974 while working at CBC in Edmonton. They got married in
1977, and have been together ever since. They had many great times and adventures over the
years, even in retirement.
"I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, forever and ever my Mama you'll be”
A Celebration of Life service for Dianne will be held sometime in August 2021.
