Donald Hutchison

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald John Hutchison announces his passing on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the age of 77 years.

Donnie will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years Geraldine May Hutchison; his children, Darren (Sandra) Hutchison, Dale Hutchison (Sally Madeit), Denise McCaskill; 8 grandchildren, Kendra (Nikolas), Brandon, Jacob, Ethan, Nicholas, Chloeë, Dawson, Mya; one great grandson, Atticus; siblings, Sandra Webb, Carol Andres (Pat), Stewart Hutchison (Linda), Jo-Anne Scheffelmaier (Doug), Brian Hutchison (Maureen); along with many extended family and friends.

Donnie was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Joan Hutchison, and his brother Arthur David Hutchison.

Donnie was born on January 29, 1947 in Calgary, Alberta, and was a gifted athlete in both baseball, as a third baseman, and hockey as a goaltender. Besides school at Forest Lawn High, he worked at West Alberta Bakery where he met Geraldine, who would later become his wife. Donnie had an excellent work ethic and became a Journeyman Electrician, which he enjoyed for many years. He loved his family and had many friends that he enjoyed camping, fishing, renovating, and breaking bread with. He loved gatherings and was known for carving a mean turkey and welcoming anyone into his home. If you knew him really well, he'd tell you where the best deli's and meat-shops were, and the best prices. If you needed a hand, Don would be there and would give you his best.

No service is planned at this time, but will be announced at a future date in Lethbridge.
