Ernest(Ernie) Herbert Sexton of Milk River crossed over to glory May 18th, 2023 in the Milk River Care Facility with family at his side He was one of seven sons of the late Harold & Agnes(Hebb) Sexton of Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia.
Born in Halifax Nov 14th 1930, he went to school and lived in Windsor till he moved to Alberta. After many trips back and forth with brothers Jim and Henry, he landed a year round job farming in the Warner area, where he met his wife, Zola Gibson while helping another farmer. Married in August 1956, they were blessed with seven children from 1957-1966, six girls & one boy, the last two being twins.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by eight siblings, two sisters, Lilian Hardie and Evelyn Leach, six brothers, Henry, Harold, Bill, Jim, Eric, and Charlie, his Daugther Kim Feist, granddaughter Shaylee Feist & former wife Zola Sexton. He is survived by one sister Marie Dill from Windsor Nova Scotia, six children, Sharline(Ike)Lynn, Nadine(Kim)Eagles, Karen Sexton, Sharon(Alan)Collinson, Linda Stahl, & Harold Sexton, fourteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews
Ernest was an honest, loyal, fair, loving and competent man working hard at whatever he did. He loved and was dedicated to his family and friends, always willing to help. Hunting, fishing, & water skiing was what he enjoyed when there was time. He was always smiling, had a particular fondness for animals and small children. His dedication and concern for people will be missed by all who were touched by his love, smile & friendly hand shake.
An open celebration of life will be held at the Milk River Civic Centre, Saturday July 22, 2023 at 2:00 with Keith Dangerfeild officiating.
