Gordon Hohm

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gordon Hohm on July 27, 2014 after a lengthy battle with cancer, at the age of 59.

Gord was born January 1, 1955 and was the last "New Years Baby" born in the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge. He grew up in Spring Coulee at St. Mary's Dam and went to school there until High School, which was in Magrath.

Gordon is survived by Cathy, the love of his life for 24 years. He will be forever cherished by his parents, Eric and Mary Yvonne Hohm, his sister Shari Forsythe Hohm (Fern) and his brother Roger Hohm (Fran). He will also be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Mandy Schlosser (Chris), David Hohm (Nadine), Erika Stewart (Cyle), Ryan Strande, Robert Luke Pomarenski, Paige Pomarenski, and Wyatt Pomarenski, mother-in- law, Fran Pomarenski, sister-in-law Terry Strande (Bill), and brother-in-law Eugene Pomarenski (Corrie).

Gordon was an avid golfer, with golf being the second love of his life. He was a perfectionist at this sport and was truly gifted. He was also an avid curler and hunter and loved being outdoors whenever possible.

He was a strong yet kind-hearted and genuine man who made friends wherever he went. He was always willing to help those in need in any way that he could and loved talking to people. He had many stories and loved telling them.

Gord was blessed with very loving family and friends; rich in every way that mattered.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday August 5, 2014 at Southminster United Church, 1011 4 Ave S. Lethbridge.

Following the service Cathy has asked that anyone that wishes join her and the families at the Reception for a "scotch" toast to Gord.
