Helen Baerg

Helen Mary Baerg, of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away on July 24, 2024, at the age of 87.

Helen was born on May 16, 1937, in Coaldale, Alberta. Her desire and need to care for others resulted in her attending the St. Michael’s General Hospital School of Nursing and graduating as a Registered Nurse in August of 1958, a career she cherished for many years.

In 1969, Helen married Alfred and they raised four daughters together: Lynn (Tom) Corbett, Brenda (Dan) Sawatsky, Karen (Allan) Rancier, and Chrissey Baerg. In addition to her daughters, Helen is survived by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In her free time, Helen enjoyed sewing, crocheting, machrome, baking, and reading.  

She will be greatly missed by the many family and friends who knew her and on whom she made a lasting impact.

The family would like to thank the 5A nursing staff of the Lethbridge Chinook Regional Hospital for the exemplary care they provided.

A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, July 30, at 1:00 PM, at the Evangelical Free Church of Lethbridge, followed by a luncheon.
