In Loving Memory of Janette Marie Thomas

Janette, aged 78, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, in Lethbridge, Alberta, at St. Michael’s Health Centre. She was born on July 31, 1947, in Stettler Alberta.

Janette was known for her passion for knitting and crocheting. You would always find her with a ball of yarn, knitting needles, or crochet hooks. She made many blankets for family, friends and even donated to the local shelters. She moved in with her son and his family in 2018. She loved going for walks around the neighbourhood and would always stop and talk to everyone she would meet along the way. She would often walk to McDonald’s to have coffee and breakfast with people she met there.

Janette is survived by her son Marty (Dawn) Thomas, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Cassondra (Eric) Jensen, Samantha Wilson, Kira (Bryce) Herba, Roman (Shelby) Thomas, Kieran, Alora, Marcus, Lyla, Chloe, Keeley, Elek, Tyden, Benjamin, Lillian, and Skyler, her brothers  Les (Theresa) Thomas, and Richard (Sharon) Thomas, and her sister Myrna (David) Beatty, as well as many nieces and nephews. Janette was preceded in death by both her parents James “Bud” and Bernice (née Woods) Thomas, her sister Sharon Bevans, and her niece Robyn Beatty.

Janette will be privately laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, Pincher Creek, Alberta.
