It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jürgen Hauschildt, loving husband, brother, uncle, father, and Opa.
Jürgen passed away peacefully at home after a two-year battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife, Renee Hauschildt; his daughter, Skye Hauschildt; his sweet granddaughters Amaya and Everlie Hauschildt; his sister, Tina (Rob) Walser; his brother, David (Dianne) Hauschildt; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Max Hauschildt, and his mother, Esther Hauschildt.
Jürgen was born in Radevormwald, Germany, and immigrated to Canada in July, 1962 with his family. He grew up in Lethbridge and, in 1982, met Renee. They were married on July 19, 1986. In 1988, Jürgen's career as a flooring specialist took them to Edmonton, where they eventually met and adopted Skye in August 1999. He returned to Lethbridge in 2016 and became Opa to Amaya (2018) and Everlie (2021).
Jürgen was very devoted to his family, and everything he did was with them in mind. He was a kind and generous soul, always giving his time to friends, neighbours, and family members. His favourite saying was, "There is no such thing as too much love," a principle he lived by every day. He will be dearly missed.
There will be no formal funeral service for Jürgen, as per his wishes.
There will be a Celebration of Life on August 15, 2026, at Jürgen and Renee's home, 1020-18th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jack Ady Cancer Centre at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital.
