Lavina was born in Hilda, Alberta, and grew up in the Brooks / Duchess region. She married Floyd Domeij on October 19, 1947. After homesteading briefly at Wanham, they left the homestead to follow the oil patch before retiring to Bentley. After Floyd’s passing she moved to Calgary and then British Columbia before returning to Alberta in 2012.
Lavina and Floyd had eleven children; Louise, Raymond, Edward, William, Gordon, Darrell, Alvin, Brian, Leslie, Terry, and Debbie.
She was predeceased by Floyd, Her parents Rose and Matheis Levie, brothers Ruben and Albert, her sister Viola, as well as eight children: Louise, Edward, William, Gordon, Darrell, Alvin, Brian, and Leslie.
She is survived by her sisters Margaret Houseman and Irene Domeij, three children: Raymond (Christina), Terry (Pam), and Debbie (James), as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
At Lavina’s request no Funeral Service will be held, although a Memorial will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022 between 1:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. at the Rosedale Community Hall, (2 Roland Street, Red Deer, AB.)
