HEINRICH, Ludwig Fritz (“Fritz”)
Fritz Heinrich passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of October 23, 2024, at the age of 91. He was born on January 4, 1933, in the Hague where he began his schooling. With the outbreak of war in 1939, his family relocated to Düsseldorf, where they spent the remainder of the war, moving back to his family home of Vienna afterward, where he finished his schooling and went to trades school to train as a furrier.
Fritz immigrated to Canada in 1954, and spent 11 years working in various mines, moving to southern Ontario following the birth of his first son. The family moved to Lethbridge in October, 1967, so he could practice his trade. In Lethbridge he was involved in community organizations like the Public Library Board and the Community Services Advisory Committee, as well as with sports, playing and later refereeing broomball and playing, refereeing, and coaching soccer for a number of years; he also loved golf and music.
Fritz is survived and lovingly missed by his wife of over 65 years, Sigrid, and their two sons, Brian and Mark.
A family gathering will be held at a later date.
