After a long anticipated move to Alberta to live near her sons, their partners and her young grandson, Marlene was weakened by the drive from St Thomas to Alberta, and she ended up in hospital.
All her life she battled with personal illness and prevailed through many hardships. She was an inspiration through her determination and spunk. Her final trip took a toll from which she did not recover.
At her wishes she was cremated and her ashes will be spread over some of the places she always had wished to go.
She is survived by her sons Steven (Jamie) and Jeff (Tanya) and grandson Van, and sister, Karen. She is missed by all her family and friends, who were all looking forward to knowing about her new life out west.
Rest in Peace, Marlene.
