Virginia Johnson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia “Louise” Johnson (Syms) of Coalhurst, Alberta on April 18, 2022.

Louise was born March 23, 1962, in Calgary, Alberta, and celebrated her 60th birthday shortly before her passing.  Louise grew up as both a city girl, and a country girl.  Surrounding herself with dogs and horses since she was young, she could often be found teaching and training them to do tricks or learn obedience skills.  She was definitely our dog-whisperer.  Louise had the kindest, biggest heart and was famous for her home-made pickles and other canning delights. Her Christmas baking was also second-to-none, as many can attest! Her loving and supportive family brought her the greatest joy, and she is fondly remembered in so many ways.

Louise, beloved wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister, cousin, niece and friend, will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Cliff “Pickles” Johnson, children James (Jenna) and Nick (Laura), grandchildren Callum, Bowen and Stella, father Wayne Syms, mother Sharon Paschke (Doud), sisters Lorrie Syms (Dave Ewert) and Lana Syms and brother Michael Syms (Jessica).  She leaves behind to mourn many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  Louise is predeceased by her nephew Brandon Cole, cousin Teri Beauchesne and brother-in-law Reyn Johnson.

In keeping with Louise’s wishes, no funeral will be held. Cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  If friends and family so desire, a donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society: 55 St. Clair Ave. West, Suite 500, Toronto, ON M4V 2Y7 or www.cancer.ca

Condolences can be sent to ace-john@shaw.ca or mailed to: Cliff Johnson, Box 143, Coalhurst, AB, T0L 0V0.
